Do you ever feel like the world is just too loud and too much?
Being around people or in public spaces often leaves you feeling triggered
Tuning out everyday sounds and background noises takes immense effort
Your body constantly feels on edge or hyper-aware, even in familiar spaces
You carry unexplainable and perpetual body tightness, overwhelm, digestive distress, or a sense of bracing for impact
If any of this resonates, our neurodivergent-centred Safe and Sound Protocol therapy might be able to help.

Developed by Dr. Stephen Porges, the Safe and Sound Protocol (SSP) is an evidence-based sound therapy that sends safety cues to your nervous system. Using over-ear headphones, you listen to specially engineered music designed to help…
… tune your nervous system to detect safety more easily
… ease emotional and sensory overwhelm
… guide your body toward a calmer and more comfortable state
… increase your ability to self-regulate, access resources, and engage with your worldThe music is accessed through the specialized Unyte app, and the listening schedule (treatment plan) is always personalized based on what your nervous system can handle. You can listen anywhere from a few minutes at a time, up to one hour per session.
You can engage in low-demand activities that complement the listening process. However, there are also specific activities and environments to avoid so you don't accidentally overload your system.
To dive deeper into the science and history behind this therapy approach, visit the SSP Unyte app website.

Neurodivergent folks, such as Autistic individuals, ADHDers, AuDHDers, PDAers, those with sensory processing disorders, and HSPs;
Those experiencing PTSD and/or cPTSD;
Parents looking for ways to help their neurodivergent child with sensory sensitivities, shutdowns, and meltdowns;
Anyone struggling with persistent anxiety and depression, chronic sleep issues, burnout, sound sensitivities and other sensory regulation challenges, frequent overwhelm, and/or stress-related gastrointestinal (GI) disruptions;
Anyone looking for nervous system regulation support alongside talk therapy, OT, EMDR, or other therapeutic work.

For neurodivergent individuals, a positive experience with the Safe and Sound Protocol therapy relies heavily on proper pacing, as standard listening schedules can quickly lead to sensory overload or shutdown for a sensitive nervous system.
Our SSP programs are led by clinicians who specialize in supporting neurodivergent processing and know how to adapt the protocol to ensure the program is carefully titrated, and the listening remains gentle, safe, and supportive.
Your counsellor will guide you in tuning into your body's subtle cues, recognizing early signs of overstimulation before they take over, and adjusting your pace so you can get the most out of every session.

If your neurodivergent child struggles with sensory sensitivities, emotional meltdowns, sound triggers, or social connection, their nervous system may be stuck in a defensive "fight, flight, or freeze" state. This parent-focused program is designed to empower you as the primary co-regulator. Rather than having your child attend group therapy, you will learn how the SSP works, how to guide and pace listening sessions with your child at home, and how to create a low-demand, safe environment that supports your child's nervous system.
